Kalpataru Divas was observed with great reverence and enthusiasm on 1st January 2026 at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Ramnagar. The programme was organised by the students of Class VI-B to commemorate the sacred day when Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa revealed himself as Kalpataru, the wish-fulfilling tree.The programme commenced with Mangalacharan, creating a serene and spiritual atmosphere. This was followed by a floral tribute offered to the portrait of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa. The welcome address was delivered by our respected Vice principal, Sharmila Didi,who warmly welcomed the honourable guest, teachers and students.A conversation on the significance of Kalpataru Divas was then presented to help students understand the spiritual importance of the day. The students further enriched the programme by presenting a song and a recitation.The honourable chief guest Dr. Smriti Paul, Head, Department of Political Science, Cachar College enlightened all with her valuable words. Through her PPT-assisted presentation, she shared valuable insights into the life and teachings of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa and explained the significance of observing Kalpataru Divas on the 1st of January. The program was further enriched by a graceful dance performance presented by the students. Rashmi Didi, a teacher of our vidyalaya delivered a speech.She explained the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna and inspired students to follow the path of truth, discipline and service.
To conclude , the students presented a soulful performance of the Ramkrishna Sharanam 'Bhajan' The program ended with chanting of the Shanti Mantra, marking the end of a meaningful and spiritually enriching celebration.
