Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Ramnagar, Silchar celebrated 79th Independence Day on 15 August, 2025 with immense joy , pride and an indescribable happiness. The day symbolized the stories of centuries of struggle, courage, and sacrifices made by our freedom fighters.The entire school embraced the day with a divinity of love and patriotism as the National Flag unfurled by our respected Principal Sir, Sri Bijon Saha . The school band played the National Anthem and every heartbeat resonated with pride and every soul bowed with respect for the nation.
The celebration started with the mangalacharan and the Principal of the Vidyalaya addressed all with a warm speech highlighting India's contribution to humanity.
The program continued with a patriotic song by a few students of the Vidyalaya followed by an informative conversation on the significance of the day.
Sanjay Dey Sir, Science teacher of the Vidyalaya energized the hall with his speech emphasizing India’s determination and achievements in the fields of science and technology, defence, and its vision of becoming a self-reliant economy. A few students of our Vidyalaya recited a patriotic poem followed by a skit depicting the sacrifice of Rani Gaidinliu on the eve of independence.
A group of students presented slogans followed by a dance drama on 'Desh ki Awaaz' . Towards the end, a few students showcased their talent through a melodious instrumental performance of patriotic songs. The programme concluded with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra.
Alongside the cultural events, the Balvatika teachers organised TLM exhibition and a drawing competition for the students of Balvatika II and III. The students of Class VI presented Science Model Exhibition, while a house-wise competition on Art Integration was held on the theme “Assam and Andhra Pradesh”.
