On 3rd July 2015, National Institute of Electronic and
Information Technology (NEILIT) with the collaboration with VKV Ramnagar, Silchar has conducted a
Workshop on Digital India Week. It was conducted in two phases.
The first phase was started on
11:20 am by mangalacharan followed by a song (Nirmano ke pawan yog mae…)
presented by the students of class-VIII. After that, Sri Shamik Gupta, Technical
Officer of NIELIT enlightened the students with the aims and objectives,
facilities and needs of the Digital India in the Modern India. After that
various activities was conducted such as- (1) Skit competition for class-IX, (2)
HTML coding competition for class-VIII and (3) Quiz competition for class-X.
Skit competition was judged by
Faculty members of NIELIT, Smt. Soma Deb and Smt. Hirentombi Singha.
HTML competition was judged by
technical officer, Sri Shamik Gupta and Quiz competition was conducted by
Faculty members Sri Ashish Dey Mazumder as Quiz Master and Smt. Hirentombi
Singha as a time keeper and scorer. The first phase ends up with shanti path
followed by lunch provided by the organizers.
The second Phase started at 2:45 pm
by mangalacharan followed by a song (Nai dagar naya safar…) presented by the
students.of class-X. In the second phase we had CIC of Silchar, Sri Shayantanu
Bourgohain, DIO of NIC Silchar, Sri W.C Shanti Singh, DEAN Academic NIT
Silchar, Sri A.K Singha along with us.

Bourgohain spoke about digital week and about its facilities, such as, Cyber
Security, National skill Development Skill etc.

Academic NIT Silchar spoke about the importance of Digital India. He said to
transform Society into digital Society, to improve the E-governance of the
country, to provide NET Banking and to provide high network in the rural areas.

A.K Singha first defines the digital India. He said that according to PM Modi
3/4th of the technology can supply whole world and for that we have
to train. He said that a rural student through by the technology can acquire similar
facilities like that of urban students. He donated two computers to VKV,
Ramnagar, Silchar and promised to trained the students of class-IX by providing
accommodation after the consult of principal, Sri Shasanka Roy. After that
there was a prize distribution and program ends up with santi path. Total participants in that
program were 150.
