Janmasthami observation

Janmashtami, Hindu festival celebrating the birth( janma) of the God Krishna on the 8th (ashtami) day of the dark fortnight of the month of Bhadrapada. To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, Janmashtami was celebrated at VKV, Ramnagar, Silchar with mirth and joy.

The program was started with three Omkara and Mangalacharan. Lamps were lighted by the senior most teacher of our school. It began with a beautiful Bhajan i.e Guru Bhajan by the students of Class II, Krishna Bhajan by the students of Class III, and a beautiful dance performed by the students of class( II, III, IV). Basana didi, our English teacher presented a speech on Janmashtami. In her speech, she mentioned that Krishna Janmashtami is also known as Gokulashtami, this day is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna. Ancient Hindu literature including Bhagawad Gita and Bhagawata Purana, clearly state the story of Lord Krishna's birth. And ever since his birth, every 8th day called Krishnapaksha of the month of Bhadrapada is celebrated as Krishna Janmashtami.

At last , Krishna Satanam was beautifully presented by the teachers and thus the program was successfully ended.
