Amrit Pariwar Sammelan

Amrit Pariwar Sammelan was organised by Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Ramnagar-Silchar on 10th December,2022 (Saturday).The program was initiated with the objective of intimating the parents of the right process of upbringing their child and thus nurture a happy family. The grace of the program was enhanced by the presence of the chief guest of the program Sri Dipak Sengupta Sir, renowned teacher of Adhar Chand Higher Secondary School. A great number of parents attended the program. Motivational speech delivered by Pranab Brahmachari Sir added glory to the program.He shared a few motivational stories to guide the parents according to the objective of the program.He said "Parenting styles are a major factor in the development of children. The way parents interact with their child has a significant effect on the child’s behavior.A parent should influence the child's basic values, like religious values, and issues related to their future." Sri Dipak Sengupta Sir then added a few more significant words on parenting .He said,"Children need care that promotes positive emotional health and well-being and that supports their overall mental health, including a positive sense of self, as well as the ability to cope with stressful situations, temper emotional arousal, overcome fears, and accept disappointments and frustrations." There was then Gita Chanting by selected students of Class II, III and IV followed by Action Rhyme and a graceful dance performance by the students of Class KG and Vivek geet by the students of Class II,III  and IV. The program concluded with Shanti Mantra.

Gita Jayanti Observation

 Geeta Jayanti was celebrated in Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Ramnagar-Silchar on 3rd December, 2022.It is a very special day for Hindus.The holy book of Hindus, Bhagavad-Gita was born on this day. Gita Jayanti is the day when Lord Krishna explained the Gita gyan to Arjuna at the battlefield of kurukshetra. The program was hosted in sanskrit by Roshni Rana of VIIA  and Drishtantika Singha of  VII B. The program started with Mangalacharan,  followed by a floral tribute to Lord Shri Krishna's photo by our guest Dr. Shilpi Dutta Majumder , our Principal Sri Bijan Saha sir  and Primary Incharge Smt. Lipika Roy Didi. Welcome address was then offered by our Primary Incharge, Lipika Didi followed by felicitation of the guest. Some selected students presented Saraswati Bandana on the occasion of Gita Jayanti. Shlokas from Gita were chanted by some selected students. Ritika Das from  Class VIII B delivered a speech on the significance of the day. Sri Krishna Pranam Mantra was sung by some students. Pranab Sir (Science teacher of Vidyalaya) spoke a few words on  the importance of Bhagavad Gita. He also read some Shlokas from Bhagavad Gita and explained the meaning. He said "Nothing is permanent in this life.So we should live our life with purity.He concluded his speech with Swamiji's words. Soumyajit Nath from VIII B read a shloka in sanskrit from Bhagavad Gita. On the auspicious occasion of Gita Jayanti,a significant speech was given by our guest Dr. Shilpi Dutta Majumder, Asst. Professor in Sanskrit Department, Cachar College. She read a shloka in sanskrit from Bhagavad Gita by Veda Vyasa. She "Gita is undoubtedly the best gift that Lord Krishna has bestowed upon the world. Gita shows us our paths and gives us refreshments." 'Conversation between Arjuna and Sri Krishna' was performed by Sandip Deb VII B and Aniket Malakar VIII A. The program was concluded with Shanti Mantra.

Asom Divas Observation

  Asom Diwas was celebrated in our school on 2nd December 2022. Asom Diwas is also known as "Sukhapaa Diwas" in honour of the founder of the Ahom kingdom that existed for nearly 600 years. The program started with Mangalacharan, followed by a floral tribute to Sarai and portrait of  King   Su-ka-pha  by the students. Prajukta Deb of  VII  deliver  significance of the day. A group song was presented . The poem recited by Deepshikha Das of  class VII  . Jwali Gohain Didi (Physical Education teacher of Vidyalaya) delivered a speech where She stressed about the importance of Asom Divas in Assam and the first king of the Ahom kingdom. The program was concluded with Shanti Mantra.

Lachit divas Observation

 The 400th birth anniversary of Assam's legendary war hero Lachit Borphukan's birth anniversary was celebrated on 24 November 2022  as  Lachit Diwas. The program started with Mangalacharan, followed by  floral tribute to Great patriot Lachit Borphukan's photo by our respected principal sir and students. Adrita Dey class of standard VII delivered the  significance of the special day.Students of class VI presented a beautiful Assamese group song praising the  Lachit Borphukan. Next the  students  recited the poem describing the valor of great patriots of our country.  Smt Piyali Bhattacharjee Didi (Social science teacher of Vidyalaya) signify the events of Lachit's life his bravery and leadership qualities. On account of the Lachit Diwas skit was presented on The Battle of Saraighat. Different co- curricular activities like Art competition, speech competition was organised for different classes on this occasion. The program was concluded with Shanti Mantra.

Sadhana Divas Observation

 Sadhana Diwas was celebrated in our school on 19th November 2022 to pay our homage and gratitude to Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade,who is the founder of Vivekananda Kendra kanyakumari and Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas .The program started with Mangalacharan, followed by a floral tribute to Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade's photo by our Mananeeya Meera Kulkarni Didi ( Pranta Sanghatak, Assam Prant) and our Principal sir and by the students of  class X. Sristi Bhattacharjee of class X delivered significance of the day.  Students of class VI presented  a group song praising the master of the day Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade.  Kathamrita Bhattacharjee Didi (Computer Science teacher of Vidyalaya) through her speech  appealed the students to have a goal in life and lead a purposeful life like Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade in serving the humanity. On account of the Sadhana Diwas ,  Housewise Skit competitions were conducted on theme incidents from the life of Swami Vivekananda or Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade. The program was concluded with Shanti Mantra.

Juru Nanak Jayanti Observation

 Guru Nanak Jayanti was observerd in our School on 8th of November, 2022. The host for the day was Arindam Chakraborty of Class X. The observation started with Mangalacharan, followed by a floral tribute to Omkara and Guru Nanak's photo by some students of Class X. Then, some students sang some Guru Bhajans. The day's significance was shared by Angkita Singha of Class X. Ranjita Ghosh Didi presented the teachers' speech on the occasion of Guruparv. She told some touching Guru-Shishya stories in her speech which added glory to this auspicious day. Next, five girls from Class X presented a colourful dance which was appreciated by all. Rownak Nath of Class X, gave a speech on the occasion. The Program concluded with the Shanti Mantra.

Universal Brotherhood Day Celebration

 

Vivekananda Kendra vidyalaya Ramnagar Silchar,on 12ty September, Monday celebrated the Universal Brotherhood Day which marks the commemoration of Swami Vivekananda's famous speech delivered on 11th of September in 1893 in Chicago to the delegates of the world parliament of religions. The speech is popularly remembered for it's opening words " Sisters and brothers of America" which depicts the great vedantic strength of India .He discarded the idea of religious supremacy and propagated a message of not only mutual tolerance but also religious acceptance. 

      Programme was started by chanting 3 Omkaras followed by Mangalacharan then speech by Principal of VKV Ramnagar silchar Bijan Saha Sir. He highlighted the need for Universal Brotherhood in present day global scenerio citing the famous speech of Swami Vivekananda .He also said that the Universal Brotherhood is to maintain peace and all round development of human race irrespective of their religion. After that the students of class viii Priyanjana Goswami and class vi Nousin Rahat Laskar they had a conversation on the importance of Universal Brotherhood Day. Then a beautiful dance performed by the students of Vidyalaya on the song "Bir senapati Vivekananda" .Then our principal sir felicitated our chief guest Swagata Kr.Nath , associate professor of Assam University. After that a beautiful drama and recitation performed by the students of Vidyalaya.

      The prize distribution ceremony of all the competitions that were conducted so far in this session started.After that the Tabla performance and dance by the students of Vidyalaya. A student of class VII Debargha Chakraborty wonderfully delivered the iconic Chicago speech by Swamiji. The mathematics teacher of vidyalaya Anamika singha Didi  had a speech on the significance of Universal Brotherhood Day. Then our chief guest Swagata Kr Nath delivered a valuable speech where he highlighted about the iconic speech of Swamiji in World parliament of religions for which he received a two-minutes-long standing ovation. In fact, Vivekananda's address was most likely the first time a global audience was greeted.Swami Vivekananda’s speech is considered to be a turning point for the World Parliament of Religions, as it made the concept of tolerance and acceptance towards other religions more comprehensive and real. He elegantly stressed on the message of Swamiji where he explained about the existence of old religion and elimination of none .we should assimilate and not to destruct and must live in harmony and we should inculcate his princples on us. He further added that Swamiji must be the inspiration to every Indian, particularly the youth of today, to build a new India through motivation, education and dedication.

        Last but not the least the students of Vidyalaya performed Vivek geet and then the programme was concluded by Shanti Mantra.

Teachers day Celebration

 Teacher's Day is a special day for appreciation of teachers, and to honour them for their special contributions on different field. On 5th September, VKV Ramnagar, Silchar celebrated Teacher's Day as the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The program was started with three Omkara and Mangalacharan.Lamps were lit and flowers were offered to the portraits of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

           The program began with a beautiful Bhajan i.e Guru Bhajan by the students of Class I.There were some activities performed by our teachers i.e Pledge by Lipika didi, Significance by Madhumita didi, News by Ranjita didi, Multiplication by Sunita didi, Science Experiment by Sangeeta didi and Special item by Leina and Raznee didi. A beautiful dance performed by some students of our school. Students of Class VIII, IX, X sang beautifully on the occasion.   Sanchita didi, our English teacher presented a speech on Teacher's Day. In her speech ,she mentioned that Teacher's Day in India is celebrated on 5th September to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He was a renowned scholar, recipient of Bharat Ratna, first Vice - President and second President of Independent India. As an educationist, he was an advocate of edification and was a distinguished envoy, academician and above all a great teacher.

           Thus, the program was beautifully ended with Shiv Bhajan and Saraswati Vandana by all the teachers.

Srimantha Sankardev Tithi observation

 On 29th August 2022 Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Ramnagar Silchar celebrated Srimanta Sankardev tithi in the Vidyalaya campus. Srimanta Sankardev the spiritual gaint of India who was the founder of Eksaran Nam Dharma and Vaishnavism in Assam. His contribution to literature art and culture, dramatics and social sphere made this land known to the world.

  The programme was started with 3 Omkaras followed by Mangalacharan then the floral tribute to Srimanta Sankardev by the teachers of Vidyalaya. Students of class VII presented nam sankirtan as opening song.on the significance of Sankardev punyatithi a student of Vidyalaya delivered a speech. It was followed by the dance performance by classVII students. A short speech highlighting the significance of Sankardev tithi by the physical instructor of vidyalaya Jwali Gohain Didi. Through her speech she focussed on the childhood days of great vaishnavate saint Srimanta Sankardev she also added his  major literary and artistic contributions which are living traditions in Assam and his substantial contributions to the shaping of Assamese culture is immense. It was then followed by the song sang by the students of class IX & X .Then Borgeet competition was conducted  among the students of class V& VI. And with Shanti Mantra the programme of Srimanta Sankardev tithi concluded.

Janmasthami observation

 Janmashtami, Hindu festival celebrating the birth( janma) of the God Krishna on the 8th (ashtami) day of the dark fortnight of the month of Bhadrapada. To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, Janmashtami was celebrated at VKV, Ramnagar, Silchar with mirth and joy.

 The program was started with three Omkara and Mangalacharan. Lamps were lighted by the senior most teacher of our school. It began with a beautiful Bhajan i.e Guru Bhajan by the students of Class II, Krishna Bhajan by the students of Class III, and a beautiful dance performed by the students of class( II, III, IV). Basana didi, our English teacher presented a speech on Janmashtami. In her speech, she mentioned that Krishna Janmashtami is also known as Gokulashtami, this day is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna. Ancient Hindu literature including Bhagawad Gita and Bhagawata Purana, clearly state the story of Lord Krishna's birth. And ever since his birth, every 8th day called Krishnapaksha of the month of Bhadrapada is celebrated as Krishna Janmashtami.

 At last , Krishna Satanam was beautifully presented by the teachers and thus the program was successfully ended.

Independence Day Celebration

 Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Ramnagar, Silchar has celebrated the 76th Independence Day with great joy and pomp. The program started with the parade at 7:30 am. The Principal Sir unfurled the flag at 7:45 am. As soon as the flag was hoisted, everyone sang the national anthem. After that, different kinds of programs were started with Mangalacharan followed by three Omkaras. The event consisted of song, dance, drama, painting , role-playing, etc. A welcome speech was delivered by our Principal Sir, Shri Bijan Saha to the students, parents, gaurdians and all teachers. In his speech he greeted everyone and told that on this day we should remember our freedom fighters and the Swaraj that they had given us. He also requested everyone  to respect our national flag and not to throw it here and there on the ground. A speech on the significance of Independence Day was delivered by  the student of Class X named  Purba Deb. A speech on the Independence Day was delivered by our resource personnel, Sanjay Sir. In his speech, he told that we should imagine the situation of India before independence and to remember our freedom fighters. He compared  between pre-independence  India and post-independence India. He told that India has improved and developed in many fields. He told that we should obey the rules and laws of our country. He also told how India is described as unity in diversity. He told that we should not celebrate this festival only to enjoy independence, but to pay respect to the freedom fighters and their sacrifices. He requested us to believe in man making, nation building.

A tribute to the freedom fighters of our motherland was presented  through sketch by Ayush Roy of Class X. Different competitions like drawing competition, role- playing competition, were also held on this occasion. The program ended with Shanti Path followed by sweet distribution.

Personality Development Camp

 Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Ramnagar Silchar had organised four days Personality Development Camp from 1st June' 2022 to 4th June' 2022. It was specially designed for the students of Class VI. Everyday the camp  started at 10:00 am and ended at 3:30 pm. In this camp various types of sessions had been conducted like Yoga Abhyas, Boudhik Satra, Manthan, Workshop and Samskar Varga to develop the quality of life, time management, confidence, leadership, stress management, body fitness, mental alertness, etc. which gives an individual good moral character to lead a successful life and develop leadership quality to be an ideal human being. In total 92 students had participated in this camp.

All these four days the camp was started with three Omkaras and Shanti Path followed by Aikyamantra and Geeta Chanting. Then Loosening Exercise, Surya Namaskar, Pranayam and Meditation, and Geet and Nara were conducted in Yoga Abhyas. Then the Boudhik Satra, Manthan and Workshops were conducted everyday for the students to improve them and to develop our nation. These were followed by Samskar Varga where students were taught Agya Abhyas and patriotic songs. Games were conducted to help them in physical, mental, intellectual and moral development. Moral stories were also narrated to build their character and to make our nation great. Everyday the session was concluded with Shibir Geet followed by Kendra Prarthana.

Bhasa Sahid Diwas Observation

 On 27th May, VKV Ramnagar, Silchar observed Bhasa Sahid Diwas or Language Martyrs Day as on 19th May school was closed due to flood in Barak Valley.

 The program was started with three Omkara and Mangalacharan. Lamps were lighted and flowers were offered to the portraits of great Martyrs.

  It began with a beautiful song which was performed by the students of Class IV and Bengali Recitation by the students of primary classes. Madhumita Paul Didi, our Bengali teacher presented a speech on Bhasha Shahid Diwas. In her speech , she mentioned that Bhasha Shahid Diwas or Language Martyrs Day is observed in Barak Valley area of Assam in remembrance of the incident that happened on 19th May 1961. In the incident, 11 youth including 1 woman laid their lives down in police firing at the Silchar Railway Station. They laid their lives while protesting against imposition of Assamese language on Bengali- speaking populace of this valley.   At last, some students performed Bengali Patriotic Dance and thus, the program was successfully got over with Shanti Mantra.

Rabindra Jayanti Observation

On 9th of May,2022,  Rabindra Jayanti was  observed to celebrate the 161th birth anniversary of  Rabindranath Tagore.The program initiated with Mangalacharan.

Floral Tribute was offered to the portrait of Rabindranath Tagore and opening song was sung by the students of the vidyalaya.

Recitations and Dance Drama  'Riturongo'  were also performed by the students.

Significance of the day was shared by Debargha Chakraborty of class VII followed by the speech of Ashima Bhattacharjee Didi (Music Teacher of Vidyalaya), where she sensitized the students about the rich cultural legacy that Tagore has left behind for us. Lastly, the program winds up with Shanti Mantra.

 "Matri Devo Bhaba,Pitri Devo Bhaba"

To inculcate this value, Matri Pitri Puja  was conducted by the outgoing class X students of VKV Ramnagar Silchar on 9th April 2022,  at the school premises. Students worshipped their parents in a ceremonial way.  This is one of the  unique and annual activities of VKV family. 

Our salute and tribute to all the parents, for their immense sacrifice and contribution in this man making and nation building task.

Vidyarambha Puja

 

On 11th  March,2022,  Vidyarambha Puja is a Hindu tradition, which introduces young children into the world of knowledge, letters, and the process of learning.

Like every year,this year also, Vidyarambha Puja was held in Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Ramnagar-Silchar on 11th March,2022 with great fervour and devotion.

The puja was held at the prayer hall of the school which was very beautifully decorated.

The puja was performed by the two priests accompanied by respected Principal Sir Sri Bijan Saha, Lipika Roy  didi (Primary Incharge), teachers, students of  class KG,I and II as well as their parents. During the puja, along with the chanting of mantras, the priest also put forward his valuable advice on good upbringing.

A yagna was also performed to ensure the good health of all.

After the puja, respected Principal Sir addressed the parents. Then Lipika didi spoke a few words on the rules and regulations of the school that the parents as well as students would have to follow.

The puja came to a close with the distribution of prasad among all present in the puja.

The puja must have left an indelible impression in the mind of all those who witnessed the same.

Professor N.V. Despandeji's visit to vidyalaya

 Professor N.V. Despandeji, former director of NIT, Silchar visited our school on 23rd February'2021 at 3:30 pm. The program started with Mangalacharan. The Principal of our school, Mr. Bijan Saha gave a welcome speech, in which he gave the introduction of Prof. Deshpande. He said that we were very fortunate that they had visited our school. He also said that Prof.  N. V. Despandeji had donated the statue of Swami Vivekananda in our school in 2015. He was felicitated by Uttoriyo, diary and calendar. It was followed by the Vivek Geet presented by the students of Class VI.

Professor N.V. Deshpandeji delivered a speech. In his speech, he gave importance on online education. He said that both the teachers and the students should be well- efficient in computer because the world would run completely on digital technology by the year 2100. He also stressed on the  personality development and English communication skill of the children. He also interacted with the students of Class VI.

The program was concluded with vote of thanks given by Sanchari Adhyapak Didi, senior English teacher followed by Shanti Mantra.

Republic Day celebration

 Our school celebrated India's 73rd Republic Day with great eclat. Everyone was feeling very happy and it was a matter of great pride for all of us because on 26 January 1950, the constitution of India came into force and our country, India became a republic.

The program started with three Omkara and Mangalacharan at 8 a.m. The Principal of our school, Sir Bijan Saha hoisted the National Flag and gave a motivational speech. In which he mentioned that we all are very fortunate to be a citizen of India, a country rich in culture and who have such a great freedom fighters. Then, the program started with the presentation of patriotic song by the students of Class VI. 

Gargi Acharya Didi, the English teacher gave a speech on Republic Day. In her speech she mentioned about the sacrifice of the freedom fighters.So let's take a pledge together that we will always be responsible citizens and will make our country proud.

Deepshikha Dey of Class VI and Neeharika Dey of Class VII gave a beautiful recitation, Manipuri Dance performed by Class VIII and at last a beautiful dance performed by the students of Class V. At last 'Vandematram' song was sung by all the students and the teachers of VKV Ramnagar and thus the program was successfully got over with Santi Mantra.

National Youth Day Celebration

 12th January marks a significant day in the history of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas as School's Annual Day and the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda celebrated as National Youth Day. VKV Ramnagar Silchar wholeheartedly celebrated these two events in both online and offline mode. The two esteemed Chief Guests Dr. Priyabrata Nath, HOD Bengali, S.S. College, Hailakandi and Rohitaksha Nath, working at KVS Regional Office made the programme even more happening with their gracious presence along with the guardians of our students. The programme started with mangalacharan and floral tribute followed by Principal Sir's welcome address. The students of class Vl set a positive tone to the programme with their soulful Vivek Geet. Baibhab Saha of class Vlll illustrated to the audience about the significance of the day. The programme continued with a number of heart-warming cultural performances by the students such as Sruti Natak,  Sanskrit Song, Manipuri Cultural Dance, Instrument Playing, Kshatriya Dance and Folk song. In between these performances, the Chief Guest for the day, Dr. Priyabrata Nath enlightened everyone with his valuable words. In his speech, he quoted the famous saying by Rabindranath Tagore, "If you want to know India, study Vivekananda". He finally appealed to everyone to live their lives with the teachings of Vivekananda. Students who did outstanding performances in GPP came up to share the experiences of their hardwoks and achievements. Sanchari di, the English Teacher of the Vidyalaya presented the Annual School Report highlighting the achievements made by the students in particular and the school in general throughout the year. Prizes were distributed to the students for their performances in both curricular and co-curricular activities. The programme concluded with Lipika Roy didi, the Primary Incharge delivering the Vote of Thanks followed by shanti mantra.

VIVEKANANDA KENDRA VIDYALAYA, RAMNAGAR, SILCHAR is an educational project of VIVEKANANDA KENDRA, KANYAKUMARI, Headquarter and Kanyakumari
. The school is running with the objective of "Man Making - Nation Building". VKV Ramnagar, , Silchar was established in the year 2005. The land was donated by late Adhir Chandra Roy, a resident of Ramnaagar area.
The Vidyalaya has co-educational facility. Though English is the Medium of instructions, equal emphasis is also given to Hindi, Bengali and Sanskrit in the curriculum. Besides academic, the Vidyalaya has initiated different activities to help the children develop their inherent faculties. The Vidyalaya is leaving no stone unturned in instilling in the children a sense of righteousness and discipline. The vidyalaya curriculum has given the top most priority in generating a pool of students with high moral values for maintaining love and respect for our rich cultural heritage as well as for serving the society and the motherland as responsible citizen in the long run.
