With
the objective to make the budding generation aware of four cardinal virtues of
wisdom, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Ramnagar, Silchar celebrated the ‘Vidyarambha
Ceremony’ on 30th March’15. The term ‘Vidyarambha’ itself reflects the
beginning of all knowledge.
All
the rituals were leaded by two eminent priests of the renowned ‘Gayatri Parivar’
from Shantikunj, Haridwar. The Vidyarambha ceremony was celebrated through the
chanting of ‘Vedas’ and the Hindu traditional ‘Sacred fire’ or ‘Hawan’. Chanting
of Veda was a significant part of the day to make everyone understand about all
the virtues of life.
The
whole ritual was held through the worshipping of ‘Gayatri Maata’. The two
eminent priests explained the significance of worshipping ‘Gayatri Maata’ and ‘Saraswati
Maata’. The difference lies in the appearance of these two Devis. Saraswati
Maata is carrying a ‘Lyre’ in her hand where as we can see the ‘Veda’ in the
hands of Gayatri Maata.
The
advent of all the new students and the celebration of ‘Vidyarambha’ are to
ingrain the spirituality and divinity among the children through the story-telling
process. The programme was concluded through the distribution of one-teaspoonful
of ‘honey’ into the mouth of each student.
