Cluster Sports Meet 2015



On 4th and 5th Dec 2015, first Cluster Sports Meet of Barak Valley Cluster was organized by VKSPV, Guwahati at VKV Ramnagar, Silchar, where all the four Vidyalayas, VKV (NEEPCO) Umrangso, VKV Badarpur, VKV Borojalenga and VKV Ramnagar were participated. Total participants from four schools were 102. Chess and KHO-KHO for both boys and girls were kept for the event. In this extravaganza of Cluster Sports Meet Sri S. Viswanathan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Silchar grace the occasion along with him Dr. Bibhas Deb, Principal, G.C. College and Ma. Pravin Dabholkar, Joint Gen. Secretary, VK Kanyakumari, Sri Digesh Ch. Nath, Asstt. RAO, VKVSPV, Guwahati and Dr. S.K. Nandi Purkayastha, Vice-Chairman, VMC, VKV Ramnagar, Silchar were present in that occasion.

Students of hosts Vidyalaya displayed different items viz, Jugalbandi,  Yoga, Mass-PT, Martial Art and Band which made the inaugural programme a colourful one.
                After that league matches of Kho-Kho & Chess was started and in Kho-Kho boys and girls of the VKV (NEEPCO) Umrangso was the Champion and VKV Ramnagar was the Runner-up. In Chess (Girls) Mayashree Singha of VKV Ramnagar was the Champion and Priyanka Das of VKV Badarpur was the Runner-up and VKV Borojalenga was got the Best Discipline Vidyalaya prize.
                In Chess (boys) L. Anand for VKV Ramnagar was the Champion and Bijit Sutradhar of VKV (NEEPCO) Umrangso was the runner-up.
                In the concluding session Sri Babul Hore, Gen. Secretary of D.S.A. Silchar and Joydep Nag National Chess Arbiter of Silchar were present to grace the occasion and they handed over trophies to the players.
                In proposing vote of thanks Sri Kamalakant Baliarsingha, R.A.O. of VKSPV, Guwahati announced that next Cluster Sports Meet will be in VKV (NEEPCO) Umrangso. The programme was concluded with Shantimantra.

VIVEKANANDA KENDRA VIDYALAYA, RAMNAGAR, SILCHAR is an educational project of VIVEKANANDA KENDRA, KANYAKUMARI, Headquarter and Kanyakumari
. The school is running with the objective of "Man Making - Nation Building". VKV Ramnagar, , Silchar was established in the year 2005. The land was donated by late Adhir Chandra Roy, a resident of Ramnaagar area.
The Vidyalaya has co-educational facility. Though English is the Medium of instructions, equal emphasis is also given to Hindi, Bengali and Sanskrit in the curriculum. Besides academic, the Vidyalaya has initiated different activities to help the children develop their inherent faculties. The Vidyalaya is leaving no stone unturned in instilling in the children a sense of righteousness and discipline. The vidyalaya curriculum has given the top most priority in generating a pool of students with high moral values for maintaining love and respect for our rich cultural heritage as well as for serving the society and the motherland as responsible citizen in the long run.
